Relaxation and Sleep

September 13, 2013 by Linda Crane 2 Comments

Many people experience sleep disorders or just have a difficulty getting a good nights rest. Sleep is one of the 3 pillars of good health, along with diet and exercise, but sometimes despite our best efforts, sleeping well on a regular basis is difficult.  There are a few things you could do to ensure that you get the best possible night’s sleep.  Relaxation and sleep work hand and hand.

Some things we do to insure a good nights rest include:

  • Investing in a good pillow that feels right for you and supports your neck and head.
  • Watching less TV in bed and not falling asleep with the TV on all night. Watching the news lately can give you nightmares from all the fighting, controversy, and blood shed on the news reports that comes into your bedroom.  This also goes for reading anything of this sort as well before bed.
  • Bedtime is meant to be a source of comfort.
  • Avoiding caffeine, alcohol and stimulants for 4 hrs before bed, because these can remain in the system and keep you awake.
  • A way to do this I find important is having that winding down time especially if you have a busy schedule and high stress and anxiety. Taking half an hours to “turn off” your brain and relax before you retire for the night will help you leave your worries behind.
  • A good way to do this is relaxing process, and I have a meditation CD download that can help get you into that place of R&R that we all require to be healthy and less tired in the morning to begin the day. Your brain will appreciate the relief you’ll give it. And the bonus is that if you fall asleep to this CD — no problem…you’ve put your mind in rest mode.

After you are relaxed and ready to fall off to slumber land; you can give your subconscious mind a question in the form of WHAT can I do to change or release this problem or situation?  Then state what the problem.  This is best directed when you are relaxed and ready to fall asleep. Answers come from inspiration when you are clear to receive them. Relaxation and sleep work together. So have that paper and pencil ready for when you awake and have those ideas that come in the flash of insight to assist you in life.

Bedtime, when ready to fall asleep, is a time to reunite with your Spirit.  “Honoring Spirit” Meditation CD download, is an easy and effective way to help you relax and get you into your sleep zone peacefully.
