Traumatic stress is much more common than recognized or acknowledged. Here is where Reiki for stress reduction can come into play to reduce the burden and relax the tension these problems affect. There is a growing public health and economic burden of chronic disease resulting from the adverse effects of traumatic stress. A major study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control, The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study, revealed a compelling relationship between our traumatic experiences as children and our physical and mental health as adults. These experiences are significant risk factors and leading causes of chronic disease in the United States.  Many western medical practices used in the United States merely manage chronic disease. Energy healing techniques such as Reiki seeks to heal the dis-ease at its root cause that was attributed by traumatic stress.

One can feel the effects in the body and/or mind experienced from sessions during an energy healing.  Clients remain fully clothed, close their eyes, and can lie down or can be seated during sessions. The practitioner does not have to touch the client during sessions. We all have the life force running through us, and like all of us in life we have low energy times, when we can use more energy, a tune up so to speak, or a boost to our energy system. Reiki can assist you to stay focused and balanced, and can assist you to accomplish your desired goals. It has many applications with non-invasion and practical use. Reiki for stress reduction can be your aid to a happier more productive way to enjoy and enhance your life.

Chronic pain affects more than 100 million Americans, according to a report released by the Institute of Medicine. Another 10 million people suffer from pain on a near-daily basis in Britain, according to The British Pain Society. Those numbers are just for two countries. Imagine what the worldwide numbers are. There is no doubt, then, that chronic pain is a global epidemic that affects millions of lives.

Chronic Pain: Definition and Costs

Defined as pain that lasts longer than three to six months, chronic pain has become one of the most common reasons for seeking medical attention. In the same report, the Institute of Medicine found that, as of February 2014, chronic pain cost the healthcare system an estimated $635 billion each year. Most people who suffer from chronic pain are prescribed pain medications. Increasingly, however, alternative solutions like Reiki have also proven helpful. There is still a lot of confusion and lack of education regarding chronic pain, so understanding it is the first step in deciding on choosing the best treatment.

Understanding Chronic Pain and Its Effects on the Body

Some individuals think of chronic pain as acute pain that does not subside. This definition, however, does not quite capture its wide range of manifestations. Chronic pain is a blanket term, but not everyone who suffers from it will have comparable symptoms. According to WebMD, chronic pain may be mild or excruciating. It can also occur continuously or sporadically. While the pain may merely inconvenience some people, others may be completely incapacitated by the pain.

Chronic pain is often described as “burning,” “shooting,” “electrical,” or “aching,” and it can be accompanied by stiffness, soreness, tightness, and discomfort. Over time, it can lead to fatigue, moodiness, or sleeplessness. The source of a sufferer’s chronic pain can be difficult to pinpoint, since a variety of diseases may contribute. It may linger from an old injury, accompany the natural aging process, or even come from poor posture.

But chronic pain can do much more than just interfere with normal, day-to-day life. Researchers at Northwestern University found that it can shrink the brain by 11%, effectively speeding up the brain’s aging process by 10 or 20 years. The effects of chronic pain can also create a vicious cycle. With time, the affected nerves become more sensitive, to the point where even the touch of a feather can be painful.

Pain Medications Are Only Part of the Solutions

For many sufferers of chronic pain, medications can help the pain. For other patients, pain medications may not be the best alternative. For example, for many patients, painkillers may interfere with other medications. Despite their proven results, pain medications should not be the only solution considered when attempting to assuage chronic pain. Medication is only one of several alternatives to treating chronic pain.

Pain Relief Alternatives

Moving around more is the last thing that many chronic pain sufferers would think to do. Despite sounding counter-intuitive, consistent exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent chronic pain, regardless of age. A Norwegian study from 2011 looked at 46,533 adults and found that the incidence of chronic pain among young and middle-aged individuals who exercised was 10-12% lower. Exercisers who were 65 years of age or older showed even better results.

The Chinese method of acupuncture may also help. A study from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute in New York, as well as other studies from 2009 and 2010, found that real acupuncture is more effective at relieving pain than no acupuncture or “sham” acupuncture. This finding seems to rule out the placebo effect that many cite when discussing acupuncture. Some researchers think acupuncture provides relief by reorganizing nerve pathways and releasing adenosine, which is one of the body’s natural painkillers.

Reiki and Chronic Pain…Could it Help?

In addition to other natural, non-invasive therapies, Reiki is becoming an increasingly popular option. Since Reiki is being offered in more private practices, hospices, and hospitals, more patients can benefit from the treatment than ever before.

According to AltMD, beyond signaling a physical problem, chronic pain can also stem from psychological and emotional disturbances. Reiki can resolve them by allowing healing energy to flow freely. The result is reduced pain and tension, as well as feelings of relaxation and rejuvenation. Unlike most other treatments, Reiki is a multi-purposed method that can heal both physical and emotional ailments. Through Reiki, some patients suffering from pain due to cancer, injury, or psychological or emotional distress have found relief where other methods were not successful.

Growing Evidence in Reiki Research

Some small studies have been conducted to determine the effectiveness of Reiki. They suggest that patients may use Reiki to find relief from not only the physical aspects of chronic pain, but also the anxiety that often comes with it. According to an article from the University of Minnesota, several studies found that Reiki treatments seem to relax patients, reduce fatigue and depression, and strengthen a person’s overall sense of wellbeing.

According to an article by Anthony Schifano on the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association’s website, Reiki sessions have brought relief and helped individuals feel more balanced. He writes that patients who received Reiki treatment experienced “total relaxation, less tense muscles, and improvement in their range of motion.” One patient who suffered with fibromyalgia pain for years was able to stop taking pain-relieving medications after starting regular Reiki treatments.

Increasing Awareness in the Medical Community

Medical practitioners and patients, as well as researchers, are becoming more aware of the real and lasting proven effects of Reiki when it comes to treating chronic pain. Reiki succeeds because it works on a deeper level, influencing the flow of healing energy that promotes a sense of balance and leads to pain relief in patients suffering from chronic pain from a variety of conditions. Ongoing research and testimonials from patients have shown that an integrative, individualized approach works best. Chronic pain and its accompanying treatments are still being researched; Reiki is crucial for this research. When discussing chronic pain, combining medication with exercise, acupuncture, and Reiki may potentially bring about the highest level of pain relief.

Benefits of Energy Healing

Are you living in flux all the time?  In a stressful world, anxiety and depression are at the root cause of the problems. This is where Energy Healing transmissions can come to the rescue!

Dr Norman Shealy states: “For those seeking restoration of health, there are many options” :
Just to name a few: Massage, Meditation, Prayer, Yoga, Progressive Physical Exercise, Spiritual Counseling, Vibratory music etc.

In working with over 30,000 chronically depressed patients, most stated that they could not remember ever being happy. Less commonly, a major family problem occurred in the first 5-7 years of life. Thus, it seems that something very early in life led to depression and anxiety”.

Dr Shealy goes on to state that: “The first and most critical issue in being healthy is a nurturing conception, gestation and delivery. A child may be born physically healthy but without basic homeostatic ability. (Homeostatis means that we are constantly trying to achieve internal balance in our changing environment). I’d like to give insight as to what is going on with health disorders and how to achieve internal balance in our lives.

Here is a short review.

I would like to explain further, the difference between happiness and excitement and how the lack of this understanding can cause suffering. Excitement although it seems to energize us, the effect that excitement produces is only temporary, and it comes to us in energy waves of peaks and valleys.  So you are feeling good, and then there is a let down feeling when the excitement has worn off.  You feel up and feel that adrenaline rush, but this type of energy produces, up and down moods and feelings, which can cause a variety of stress and health related problems and conditions.Happiness is a feeling from within that you bring outward into your daily life. With happiness there is an opportunity for sustainability.  The ups and downs from whatever circumstances you encounter; while feeling happy do not knock you off course feeling emotionally up and then down again.  It is the vibration where you are going along at a steady pace.  With this energy you do not feel extreme ups and downs, you are more neutral and in the flow of life; as opposed to the roller coaster lifestyle. You know the experience of feeling exhilarated and then when you calm down you feel depressed…or worse you crash.  This is what I call a good recipe for unhappiness.Stress will always be a part of life. but you don’t have to have anxiety.  If you think just because you are working with Spiritual pursuits you should not have stress in the life…well that is a misconception.  Stress is necessary part of life, anxiety is not.  Stress is the means of growth in human development. As long as you are alive you will be subjected to different forms of stress.

What one should focus on is how to have stress not affect you so radically, because through stress you evolve. Focus on the meaning this stress has in your life.  Life goes in cycles.  When you come out from the growth cycle which has its challenges and stressful situations; then if the stress has been viewed and assessed for the meaning it imparts to your life,…then you enter a cycle where you can flourish!! What you do not want to happen is to crumble under the stress.  Then you can stay at a level that will nourish you, to achieve homeostatis.

Happiness is attained through Healing Energy transmissions which helps sustain you and what often occurs…is the fear of the future over time dissolved from ones life.  This fear of the future lurks behind emotional stresses. But when you experience happiness you feel supported and nurtured and you return to your true self expression.  From this state you begin to live with purpose.

Finding ones purpose in life is a great feeling and from there you can contribute in the world in your unique way.  Everyone have a purpose and a way of doing something that expresses itself in your unique abilities.

You start feeling this happiness; which is generated from within, by just really getting in touch with ‘Yourself’.  Through the process of Energy Healing; some people report that they experience this feeling of coming home to themselves for the first time in their life. Am I Feeling Excitement or Fear?

A noted German born psychiatrist and psychotherapist, Fitz Perls stated that “Fear is just excitement without breathe.” This statement is one to ponder, because what can come out of this is a heart centered way to decipher the question: Am I feeling excitement or fear? Here’s a perspective that can prove quite helpful in daily life.  When you encounter a new situation, take a deep breathe, and then slowly release it.  Then ask yourself this simple question:  Is this fear, or excitement that I’m experiencing?

When you took that deep breathe did you feel move expansive, like WOW, Oh Yeah, something is coming to better me, and you may feel an interesting sensation in your head or stomach, or did you just feel more aware?  More aware in terms of like something doesn’t quite feel right, there is something I should notice here?  Your inner guidance is designed for your benefit to protect you from serious life changing and/or life threatening circumstances.

In allowing yourself to develop this process you will be developing your own intuition.

Consider that what you may think is fear can just be your sixth sense or higher greater awareness telling you something.  So go with your impression, your sense of it, your feeling on the greater awareness of it being a fear OR go with the energy of excitement.

F.E.A.R. has been known to mean False Evidence Appearing Real. You can also consider if it is possible that you could have been given a signal, from well meaning others as you were growing up, and you misinterpreted what you thought they were telling you, and therefore you interpreted excitement for fear. And concluded ‘that is fear’.  That’s what they mean by fear when they said to me (example): “don’t be afraid”.  You might not have been afraid at all, just excited, (like going to school, or going on the bus for the first time, but you interpreted fear for excitement…

As you re-interpret what things mean for yourself you open up space for the new to come in and advance you forward. It feels good and freeing when one give clarity to old outworn interpretations placed on yourself, and emerge gracefully into those parts of your authentic abilities.

Have the intention to shine the Light of the Creator through yourself each day to experience a deeper more encompassing self identity.

To discern better I see myself daily bathed in the Light of the Creator.  You can adopt this for yourself if you like. This Inner Light, Guidance, and Radiance is invincible power and dissolves anything that is not Divinely planned.  It dissolves all appearances of lack and limitation. Streaming your Light dissolves adverse conditions and negativity that you feel is formed against you.

To cast out the fear in any situation you can command (command is always done in a clear, firm, loving way):

“My heart is a perfect idea in Divine Mind, and is now in its right place, doing its right work.  It is a happy heart, a fearless heart, and a loving heart.” Florence S. Shinn. This is a clarifying statement and worthwhile to say many times a day.

Dissolving limitations is always important for us to improve in life.  By bathing yourself in the Light of the Creator you have a loving power with you guiding your way to make right choices.

This will assist you in stepping into your right place with more confidence to call up your innate talents and strengths that you possess, to enhance your abilities.  There are many roads that lead to the same place. This is a safe and easy road to help you to become more fulfilled, on target, with heart centered clarity for discernment to achieve goals.

Making Positive Changes

The topic of anxiety and fear has much to offer us in how to handle it.  Without getting long winded I’ll get to the point. In the Christian religion Jesus Christ taught man to harness and direct his/her thoughts.  He knew that fear was as dangerous as raging storms and uncontrolled electrical forces.  Making positive changes starts with small steps forward and then these steps begin to multiply as you keep taking steps moving forward. Words and thoughts must be handled with wisdom and understanding for them to bear anything of a positive nature.  If your imagination is running wild and building up fear pictures and feelings then your not feeling safe.  You might as well be riding an untamed animal.

We have been brought up in an age of doubt and fear.  An optimistic person was looked at strangely.  A rude remark was “a pessimist is a person who lives with an optimist”  Can you imagine what a beautiful world this would be if all anxiety and fear was cleared out from yourself, and you could start changing negative thoughts into positive?  The Twins, Anxiety and Worry, have made us slaves and are destroyers of health, wealth and happiness.

The best way to get rid of fear is to transmute it into faith: because fear is the opposite of faith.  Jesus taught as many Spiritual teachers have taught, that the Father within man can be trusted to guide, protect and provide when man/woman believes its possible.  Belief in that it is possible is important!  Jesus was teaching an exact science, the power of thought and working with the mind.   Having faith registers the idea in your subconscious mind.  And then your subconscious thoughts take it literally and brings about what your subconscious has been impressed with.  Jesus said if we believed (which is having faith) all things are possible. The idea becomes objectified in the subconscious.

How to get rid of the anxiety?  This fear can be called against having faith (anti-faith).  So face the fear walk right up to whatever the fear is, face it.  Go forward with an I can attitude without fear towards the things you want to achieve, (examples): money, new home, moving, new food regime, finding new friends more in your way of thinking and being, , etc. This will put you in a new vibration of success.

You can not accomplish anything you can not see yourself accomplishing. Poise and balance is needed to navigate through the anxiety and worry.  Doubt and fear cause you to lose your poise and balance.  It takes practice, so no matter how many times you fail try it again. When we are out of our own rhythm we are out of balance and out of luck.  Rhythm and balance is the path to handing you the keys, and showing you the means, to success and happiness.

Everything on this planet must come back to balance, (even our planet Earth must adjust Herself back into balance) in order to survive and thrive.

When you are worried its hard to be grateful and see what’s good in front of you.  When you go to your Creator with thankfulness then what is needed has a much easier time coming into your life.

Alow Money To Flourish In Your Life

Decide to follow your heart even when people tell you your nuts.  Say thank you to them.  The Universe/God is there to back you up but you have to move first. Guarantee to you when you move the Universe or whatever you want to call it moves with you.  It’s only waiting for you to take that first step. and it’s that vote of trust in yourself…in your heart.

When you reach the Universe will reach with you even higher larger.

You wouldn’t believe what happens when you trust.  Because you were able to move first, you were able to reach first then the Universe reaches in ways you know not of to assist you.

The Universe says: When you move I move…when you reach I reach, and when you go the extra mile I clear the way, but not a moment sooner.  Which is why when you commit to doing something things can look so scary. 

When you feel the fear lets not forget to laugh.  HaHaHa.  Ha in Hawaiian is the perfect breath. It means the breath of the Divine is in your presence. It means you are breathing and that you are moving. This breath keeps you unstuck, (sometime for some of us just breathing is taking action, because you have to take action.

This is not about making yourself wrong.

It’s about waking you up so the next time you feel the fear…and you want money in the bank account…then you move.

So the first time the Universe shows you an opportunity instead of the judging and the opinions and looking at what you don’t want, because we spend too much time on what we don’t want; so when opportunities come our way, we have to clear what we don’t want or else we can’t see the opportunities coming for us. We find all these excuses and we are so sure that we know what’s right and best for us.

So when the fear comes and those judgements and opinions come to you; this is there just so you can be cautious.  And knowing that, that is not you. Those are your programs talking.  You are much more powerful then that. You are above your memories. You are above your programs. 

You are a creator. So what are you creating in your life?  What are you attracting in your life. Because it’s all bout you.  And what you do when opportunity knocks at your door.  Are you going to see all the negative or are you going to say Yes I am going for it. Even if it doesn’t make sense this is the time to be creative.

People become millionaires over an idea. We all have some of those inside of us, but we don’t let them out because we go into the judgment.  You might say: It’s not logically people won’t believe me.  It’s time to trust in yourself! You have to wake up.  You have to believe what is inside no matter what other people tell you it’s just your memories that people are telling you, inside you, facing you, in what you see outside through others.

People have to be more humble. Thinking that this or that is right for you.  Who knows what is right for you? The part of you that knows better is waiting for you to give it permission. Because you put in  your mind you know what is right for you, that you know what you are looking for, the ways, the things you see it should be done.

But you are closing yourself, because other things are right in your face and you are not seeing it…because you say you know how it should go. It’s important to identify these things in your life.  If you are conscious, if you can be the observer, if you can bring yourself to the present, then things are going to change.

How many times do we fight with ourselves to receive? We most of the time don’t allow ourselves to be present and enjoy the moment so we can see what the moment is trying to tell us or give to us.  We are too noisy with our thoughts.

How many times are you conscious that your thoughts are taking you to the past or to the future and that you were not present in the moment?  Yes, it can be hard to consciously try to allow yourself to be consciously present.

We need to be willing to be humble, and be of service, and if we go back to being humble and be in touch with our creativity who we really are; we will be able to come out of this crisis and the lack of money.  Because the opportunities are right there, but you are not seeing it.

If you were laid off from the job it’s because it was not the right job.  It has nothing to do with the money crisis. It is you that is waking up to see the reality. This is coming because we have to stop looking at the things we think we need in order to be happy.

Can you be happy right now in this moment regardless if you have your job right now?  It doesn’t depend if you have the job or not.  It doesn’t depend on how much money we have or not.  Or the house that we live in or don’t have right now, because maybe we lost it.

It has nothing to so with that; because you can be happy or miserable if you had everything.  It has to do with looking inside of yourself and then when you find yourself, take a really good look at yourself…who you are, and what are your talents, and what is your uniqueness, and then you will find the money. Then money will actually magnetize to you.

Money is like your friend.  It wants to be with happy people. You have to take good care of your friend.  Money is meant to be our friend not our enemy. 

Some messages we got when we were growing up, and some we don’t even know we received. But they are operating in us.

But that’s the beauty with Ho’oponopono that you don’t need to know. The memories, the tapes replaying in our minds, your ancestors tapes, are running anyway until you clear them.  Maybe you don’t want to make money because then I won’t have to pay taxes??

These are the kinds of things we do to ourselves, yet we say we want money.  In some cultures and countries people believe if you have money you must be doing something evil.

If you can become your own observer you can catch yourself going to the past or future, you can bring yourself back.  You can bring yourself to the present where you will have what you need to move forward.

Many times we have to go through and pass the fear because the Universe is watching us all the time.  So trust is necessary to see the fear and do it anyway so the money will come in.

So be willing to go for it even if its scary. You can say yes to opportunities and then if its not taking you where you want to go you will have time to say NO. We are to try and see the possibilities that are behind that offer. The doors that might open that you never even thought about that could open.

Of course don’t do anything that doesn’t feel right in your heart, because your heart doesn’t lie. Go for it even if others think you are crazy. The mind will lie to you, but not your heart.  You will have amazing things to tell people after that.

So breath HaHaHaHaHa. Laugh about it. Look at yourself and not at judging what other people are doing.  And stop blaming and thinking there is something out there doing it to you.

Amazing doors are opened to you if you Trust Today…and are willing to trust tomorrow… and the next day…and next day after that onward.
