If you are interested in learning this technique and being a part of this dynamic introduction into self healing…please contact me: Linda Crane, Instructor: at linda@lindacrane.com for the times, location, and information that is scheduled for this energizing class.  The following is some information on Reiki.

If you are looking to improve your self, your life and your goals, than learning the energy healing benefits of Reiki is a wonderful gift to yourself, your pets, your life, and the world. Reiki has endless applications.

Reiki for Stress and Pain Reduction

Experiencing Reiki is a self help empowering and relaxing way to take an active part in your daily health care. These techniques work with our inherent, life force energy to establish balance and neutralize causes of stress, and disease forming in the body system.

Reiki pronounced (ray-key) or (ley-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

Reiki (ray-key) or (ley-key) is an ancient healing technique for modern times. Reiki restores energy balance and vitality by relieving physical and emotional effects of unreleased stress. Reiki is powerful, yet wonderfully gentle and nurturing. It supports and complements any medical healing method a person may be using. Reiki is a method to aid the body in releasing stress and tension through deep relaxation.

Ki – Life Force Energy

As long as something is alive, it has life energy circulating through it and surrounding it; when it dies the life energy departs. If your life energy is low, or a restriction in its flow, you are more vulnerable to illness. When one’s energy is high, and flowing freely, you are less likely to get sick. Life energy plays and important role in everything we do.

Reiki was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s. Reiki is administered by techniques used for thousands of years. Its origins are in ancient traditions that use symbols which transfer to the receiver therapeutic healing energy, peace, and balance. Reiki works with the whole person, promoting wellness on the physical, mental, emotional levels of our being. That is the Mind Body connection, of which we hear about so much today.

Reiki can never cause harm. It never depletes your energy, and is easily learned by anyone. Reiki is both powerful and gentle. Reiki is commonly used to treat emotional and mental distress as well as chronic and acute physical problems. Reiki works in harmony with all other types of treatment. In its long history of use it has aided in improving the effectiveness of all other types of therapy.

Reiki helps reduce negative side effects, such as those from chemotherapy, surgery, and invasive procedures. Reiki can shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain, reduce stress and helps to create optimism. Hospital patients receiving Reiki leave hospitals in an earlier span of time.

Reiki is complimentary with any health care modality. You can continue to receive regular or psychological treatment while receiving Reiki, with improved results. It is recommended that you do so under the supervision of an enlightened medical doctor or other health care professional.

During a Reiki session clients are fully clothed. A Reiki session can be done seated or reclining. The practitioner simply uses light hand placement on various positions on the client’s head and body. If the person receiving Reiki prefers not to be touched they do not have to be touched during a Reiki session, because the energy will work through and around the energy field of the client.

Learn Reiki Have A Little Peace And Calm In Your World

July 30, 2015 by Linda Crane Leave a Comment

reiki photoLearn Reiki

Wouldn’t it be great if you could help to soothe or lessen stress, anxiety and pain any time you wished with a calming and healing touch? If you learn Reiki, you can. It’s a toolbox in your hands anytime you wish to have a little calm and peace in your world. Learning to use Reiki lets you engage in self-care at any time and any place you could use a boost of positive energy. It also allows you to provide a healing touch you can use to help your friends, family members and even your pets find relief.

Healing Energy in Your Hands

Those who learn Reiki are taught how to connect with universal energy, or life force energy, and then channel it to themselves or others through the laying of their hands on a specific part of the body that needs the boost. When people’s life force energy is low, they often become ill or overly stressed. When their life force energy is high, they are generally both happier and healthier. Reiki can restore life force energy to the maximum capacity for maximum benefits.

Why Learn Reiki

The technique can be valuable for a number of ailments and situations that could benefit from a balancing of the body, mind and spirit. These include:

Alleviating stress
Centering yourself or others amidst the world’s chaos

Helping to relieve anxiety and pain, whether it’s from a specific cause or an overall feeling of physical, emotional or spiritual discomfort or unease

Helping to manage and prevent, as one part of your personal wellness program, chronic health conditions, such as asthma, heart disease, diabetes, epilepsy, depression and cancer

Strengthening well-being and feelings of calmness, peace and serenity

Reconnecting with your higher self, making you more intuitive while eradicating the feeling that something’s missing from your life

Gaining a sense of inner clarity, purpose and direction

Rooting out and releasing energy trapped from past traumas, allowing you to move forward in self-development to become the person you were truly meant to be

Opening your mind to the deep desires in your heart, discovering the things you really need to become fulfilled

The same benefits you receive from self-healing through Reiki can be shared with others when you administer the technique on them. The act of helping others is another way to reap multiple benefits, an automatic byproduct of learning Reiki.

How to Begin

People of any age and background can successfully learn Reiki, and there’s no special knowledge, skills or experience required. The only way to properly learn Reiki is through a Reiki master, or someone who has attained the third degree or teaching degree of learning associated with Reiki.

Beginners start with the first degree of practice, which focuses on Reiki basics and hands-on administration. The second degree of training involves distant healing, and/or augmenting the hands-on technique with a mental connection. The third degree brings you to Reiki master status, the highest level of learning, traditionally available by invitation only. Reiki masters are the only ones who can teach Reiki to others.

Reiki’s traditional founder, Dr Mikao Usui, referred to Reiki as the “art of inviting happiness.” You’ll be able to help yourself and others embrace that happiness if you take on the mission of learning Reiki.

Reiki and Chronic Pain

July 28, 2015 by Linda Crane Leave a Comment

Reiki and Chronic Pain: Can Reiki Help the Chronic Pain Epidemic?

Reiki and Chronic Pain: Can Reiki Help Heal the Chronic Pain Epidemic?
Reiki and the Chronic Pain Epidemic

Chronic pain affects more than 100 million Americans, according to a report released by the Institute of Medicine. Another 10 million people suffer from pain on a near-daily basis in Britain, according to The British Pain Society. Those numbers are just for two countries. Imagine what the worldwide numbers are. There is no doubt, then, that chronic pain is a global epidemic that affects millions of lives.

Chronic Pain: Definition and Costs

Defined as pain that lasts longer than three to six months, chronic pain has become one of the most common reasons for seeking medical attention. In the same report, the Institute of Medicine found that, as of February 2014, chronic pain cost the healthcare system an estimated $635 billion each year. Most people who suffer from chronic pain are prescribed pain medications. Increasingly, however, alternative solutions like Reiki have also proven helpful. There is still a lot of confusion and lack of education regarding chronic pain, so understanding it is the first step in deciding on choosing the best treatment.

Pain Relief with Reiki

Understanding Chronic Pain and Its Effects on the Body

Some individuals think of chronic pain as acute pain that does not subside. This definition, however, does not quite capture its wide range of manifestations. Chronic pain is a blanket term, but not everyone who suffers from it will have comparable symptoms. According to WebMD, chronic pain may be mild or excruciating. It can also occur continuously or sporadically. While the pain may merely inconvenience some people, others may be completely incapacitated by the pain.

Chronic pain is often described as “burning,” “shooting,” “electrical,” or “aching,” and it can be accompanied by stiffness, soreness, tightness, and discomfort. Over time, it can lead to fatigue, moodiness, or sleeplessness. The source of a sufferer’s chronic pain can be difficult to pinpoint, since a variety of diseases may contribute. It may linger from an old injury, accompany the natural aging process, or even come from poor posture.

But chronic pain can do much more than just interfere with normal, day-to-day life. Researchers at Northwestern University found that it can shrink the brain by 11%, effectively speeding up the brain’s aging process by 10 or 20 years. The effects of chronic pain can also create a vicious cycle. With time, the affected nerves become more sensitive, to the point where even the touch of a feather can be painful.

Pain Medications Are Only Part of the Solutions

For many sufferers of chronic pain, medications can help the pain. For other patients, pain medications may not be the best alternative. For example, for many patients, painkillers may interfere with other medications. Despite their proven results, pain medications should not be the only solution considered when attempting to assuage chronic pain. Medication is only one of several alternatives to treating chronic pain.

Pain Relief Alternatives

Moving around more is the last thing that many chronic pain sufferers would think to do. Despite sounding counter-intuitive, consistent exercise is one of the most effective ways to prevent chronic pain, regardless of age. A Norwegian study from 2011 looked at 46,533 adults and found that the incidence of chronic pain among young and middle-aged individuals who exercised was 10-12% lower. Exercisers who were 65 years of age or older showed even better results.

The Chinese method of acupuncture may also help. A study from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute in New York, as well as other studies from 2009 and 2010, found that real acupuncture is more effective at relieving pain than no acupuncture or “sham” acupuncture. This finding seems to rule out the placebo effect that many cite when discussing acupuncture. Some researchers think acupuncture provides relief by reorganizing nerve pathways and releasing adenosine, which is one of the body’s natural painkillers.

Reiki and Chronic Pain…Could it Help?

In addition to other natural, non-invasive therapies, Reiki is becoming an increasingly popular option. Since Reiki is being offered in more private practices, hospices, and hospitals, more patients can benefit from the treatment than ever before.

According to AltMD, beyond signaling a physical problem, chronic pain can also stem from psychological and emotional disturbances. Reiki can resolve them by allowing healing energy to flow freely. The result is reduced pain and tension, as well as feelings of relaxation and rejuvenation. Unlike most other treatments, Reiki is a multi-purposed method that can heal both physical and emotional ailments. Through Reiki, some patients suffering from pain due to cancer, injury, or psychological or emotional distress have found relief where other methods were not successful.

Growing Evidence in Reiki Research

Some small studies have been conducted to determine the effectiveness of Reiki. They suggest that patients may use Reiki to find relief from not only the physical aspects of chronic pain, but also the anxiety that often comes with it. According to an article from the University of Minnesota, several studies found that Reiki treatments seem to relax patients, reduce fatigue and depression, and strengthen a person’s overall sense of wellbeing.

According to an article by Anthony Schifano on the National Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Association’s website, Reiki sessions have brought relief and helped individuals feel more balanced. He writes that patients who received Reiki treatment experienced “total relaxation, less tense muscles, and improvement in their range of motion.” One patient who suffered with fibromyalgia pain for years was able to stop taking pain-relieving medications after starting regular Reiki treatments.

Increasing Awareness in the Medical Community

Medical practitioners and patients, as well as researchers, are becoming more aware of the real and lasting proven effects of Reiki when it comes to treating chronic pain. Reiki succeeds because it works on a deeper level, influencing the flow of healing energy that promotes a sense of balance and leads to pain relief in patients suffering from chronic pain from a variety of conditions. Ongoing research and testimonials from patients have shown that an integrative, individualized approach works best. Chronic pain and its accompanying treatments are still being researched; Reiki is crucial for this research. When discussing chronic pain, combining medication with exercise, acupuncture, and Reiki may potentially bring about the highest level of pain relief.

Clarifying To Transcend And To Transmute

May 26, 2015 by Linda Crane Leave a Comment

peacefulness photoI’ve been asked questions to clarify the terms to transcend and to transmute and tips for applying them in your life?  These words hold different meaning yet they get used interchangeably.

Transmuting is a chemical change that takes place, a total change, a total chemical change that takes place in the body and you become a different person, a different being.

When you transcend something you go through it from one experience to the next. And transcendental work is when you go from one step to the next step, to the next step, to the next step.

But when something is transmuted there’s a complete alchemy, a total change into a totally different being.

Transcending is not taking an over-view about things.  Transcending is when you go from step to step. You go higher and higher. But transmuting is when you do it all at once.

What happens chemically in the transmutation process?   The brain chemical changes to begin with. The brain cells, they seem to all of a sudden take on a new reality and they become the total servant of the mind. They no longer have their programming. All the programming disappears. The eons of programming, the past, is dead. It becomes totally annihilated, and you become a new person, an expansive person.

Is this purely a chemical change?  It’s a chemical change in the beginning.  Is it both chemical and spiritual?  Really it’s the same thing. The brain surrenders to the mind, so-to-speak. The entire programming of the brain gives up to the mind…lets go.  All the circuits become unusable.  It also affects the body too.  There’s no substantialness to it at all.  Yes. It has no substance. That’s transmutation.

People have said to me, There are many times when I remember something, yet I don’t know if it happened yesterday, or if it happened twenty years ago, or if it happened many life times ago. But sometimes certain things come to me and I wonder where they came from. Everything becomes combined and becomes one.

Do you just ignore them when they arise? When they occur just watch them. Watch them going past? Be the witness to your thoughts.

One of the beatitudes says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God,” If the heart is the center of the being, and if it’s pure, there are no contaminants in it, and the contaminants in the heart would be any thought, and if there’s no thought, at that point God can be experienced, and then we have to go into what that phrase “blessed are the pure in heart” means? It would mean pure consciousness, or Atman, or Brahman or whatever other word might be put to the ultimate reality.

Actually what the Beatitude means is when you are pure in heart you are one with God. You become the absolute reality.

I question. It would be nice…Except it’s already so!!  Is that not correct? It is correct!

People say, I have a hard time relating to this, but would the real Me be the Self? The real You is the Self! This is a truth. Which means it is unchangeable. It is a reality we can grasp and realize about ourselves.

Then how would you see me?  I would see you as energy and as part of the oneness of all things?  As spirit, as reality!

Something in me would have grasped you as the real person, as the real you within, which is myself. A person awakens, because you become what you saw. The Real Truth, seeing everyone as the God Within.

And that really changes the course of humanity…one person at a time to the tipping point!

‘The past, present and future are projected from the stateless quiet state, the transcendental. You start to witness what is going on, without getting hooked into the play, the drama of your life.  You begin to ask to whom do these thoughts come?  Then answer…they come to me.  Well who am I?  In asking and often re-asking these questions each day; we start to see the truth and the illusions of reality. I have a body, but I’m not my body, I’m not my thoughts, and I’m not my emotions. I am greater than these.  In the quiet state you can gain perspective and awareness about your life.

You  become the witness to your thoughts instead of reacting to your thoughts all the time. You start to see these thoughts as on a cinema screen and you’re not affected by all the daily negativity.  The goal is to center in the heart to gain peace, and in that quietness of heart, and from self inquiry, (to whom do these thoughts come); you can obtain the answers to make the correct moves for your life.

A heart guided approach is always superior to the minds answers to your questions. If you’ve been asking your mind for answers…and if your mind knew all the answers you seek, wouldn’t you have gotten the answers you been searching for by now?  In order to experience the Divine answers; which are inside of you, you have to be out of the realm of the mind…thinking, into consciousness, pure awareness.

It takes retraining, patience, and a desire to make the mind quiet.  But you are the boss of your mind!  You have forgotten that you are in charge…and you let the mind take over too often, when heart centered actions would give you the best outcomes with less stress.

The choice of transcending and transmuting comes to each of us. You have opportunities to leap forward no matter what’s going on in your life right now.

Linda Crane

Spontaneity

April 18, 2015 by Linda Crane Leave a Comment

Spontaneity is your point of power!

in the flow photo

Here’s An Empowering Thought:

God/Infinite Intelligence, doesn’t do-do overs.                                                               God doesn’t repeat Itself.                                                                                                God doesn’t make mistakes!

God creates through Its ONENESS with you.  God creates through Its Infinite Nature…Its Uniqueness.

How available are you to your Spiritual nature?

Spontaneity doesn’t mean you have to do something fast! It’s more about clarity of thought and you get an idea or an inspiration to do something and you just act on it.  This may lead to a seeing, or knowing, or feeling, or all 3, and one thing after another just moves forward to accomplish something in a certain direction, and you are on the path. You find that the pieces, the steps, the parts, that you require form and gel into place. There is also an energy of lightness while moving forward with the way you are responding.

We are all unique expressions of the Infinite.  It’s up to us to tap into that infinite potential and express it. When we tap into that Infinite Potential we act spontaneously. You just find yourself doing something without having to put  much thought on it.  You find yourself being it, and actively moving on it.  When this occurs it becomes a WOW…just so easy, and your life, your something, your uniqueness, is in the flow Effortlessly!

This blog came to me in a flash today and I found myself going over to the computer and writing it out for you just as it came my way.

May your co-creative connection be in a harmonious flow with Spontaneity!!

Blessings,

Linda Crane

Gratitude Can Have Deep Positive Affects On Health

January 9, 2015 by Linda Crane Leave a Comment

Since we are what we eat and what we think…here are some ways to enrich your life and health in this New Year.  It’s all about your energy and how you use it, because everything is made up of vibrations of energy.  Although energy is  unseen (meaning its not a thing you can go to the store and buy, nor is the energy of Love for that matter); yet it is certainly palpable and you can feel its affects. It’s about time and wise for each of us to get in touch with what energies we are taking in…and giving out…especially now in the 21 Century.

Five Contemplations Before Eating:

  1. 1)  This food is a gift of the earth, the sky, numerous living beings, and much hard and loving work.
  2. 2)  May we eat with mindfulness and gratitude so as to be worthy to receive this food.
  3. 3)  May we recognize and transform unskillful states of mind, especially our greed and learn to eat with moderation.
  4. 4)  May we keep our compassion alive by
eating in such a way that reduces the suffering of living beings, stops contributing to climate change, and heals and preserves our precious planet.
  5. 5)  We accept this food so that we may nurture our brotherhood and sisterhood, build our community, and nourish our ideal of serving all living beings.– Recited before meals in Thich Nhat Hanh’s Order of Interbeing, a Buddhist community that spans the globe

Eat in Gratitude and Thanksgiving:

Since researchers have concluded that expressing gratitude can have deep and positive effects on your health, we suggest that you may want to find ways to bring thankfulness into your preparation and eating of food. When you sit down to eat, whether by yourself or with others, you can take a moment to reflect on the gifts of food in front of you, the effort that went into bringing it to your table, and the blessings that abound with eating healthy meals.

The saying of grace is, at least in its original intent:
A way of connecting to our sense of gratitude and kinship with life. It is a means of caring for ourselves. It is a way to slow down, to relax, to let go of the busy-ness and worries of the day, and to be open to the food we’re about to receive.

It enables us to acknowledge and bond with the others with whom we are sharing the meal. It is a way to join with them, and all the people and elements that have made our meal possible, in a spirit of appreciation. It is not so much the words we say, as the state of mind and heart we evoke, that is important. It is a way to honor the deep human need to express our common unity in the mystery of life.   John Robbins
